Anita Martin
Anita has been involved in church music in the Diocese of Metuchen for 35 years. She has served as Director of Music at St. Paul's Church in Highland Park, Corpus Christi Church in South River, and St. Bartholomew Church in East Brunswick. At those churches, she directed adult, children, youth, and hand bell choirs. Among the highlights of her career were having the Christi Bells chosen to ring for the Pope John XXIII Mass at Giant Stadium in 1995; directing the Adult Choir of St. Bartholomew Church at the principal Mass at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome in 2001 and at the Papal Audience; and directing the same choir at the Salzburg Festival in Austria in 2004.
Anita retired as a church musician in June, 2010, and is presently teaching music at St. Francis Cathedral School in Metuchen, where she also conducts the school chorus.
Anita received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Immaculata University and a Master of Music degree from Teachers College, Columbia University with a concentration in Choral Conducting.
A resident of Monroe Township, Anita is the mother of three and grandmother of six. She is an avid bridge player and is delighted to be singing with Caritas.
